Creme de la creme August 29, 2010 Craig S. Prior I have baskets on both my commuter bikes. The idea behind the baskets is to be able to drop things in there without a lot of hassle in bungie cording things down.
That WAS the theory... but when I went whipping down a steep hill and things begin flying out of the basket... well, the best laid plans. So I use one of these cargo nets to secure the top of the basket, forming a sort of a "lid." Now I can go flying down hills and nothing can fly out.
As to inconvenience, no I don't find it inconvenient. Leave the net attached at 3 points and unattach one hook for slipping things in and out of the basket. That seems to work out well, and I'm an impatient person so considering I find it convenient... you'll find it convenient.
Would Buy Again! August 20, 2010 bluegrassgirl (Lexington, KY) My bungie cargo net arrived super fast and in perfect condition with no unnecessary packaging. Also appreciated cheaper shipping options offered by this seller. Prompt contact after purchase as well. These people do things right and I'd definitely buy from them again.
Cheap way to get my backpack off my back August 9, 2010 Brian Williammee (Arlington, VA) I recently transitioned from just riding to the metro every day (1.5 miles each way) to riding all the way to work roughly once a week (18 miles each way). I was doing fine with my backpack on my back, but my back would get especially gross with sweat and the backpack did get a little annoying. I considered getting panniers, but they were more expensive. The bungee net, perhaps in conjunction with one or two other bungee cords, has been great for securing my backpack to my rear rack. It's just takes a minute to set up and I haven't had any problems with shifting yet.
Very tough nylon to secure your stuff July 31, 2010 C. Joo Kee (Singapore) This is an excellent net to secure whatever you have to bike the rack. Very strong, I've tried to secure a 3-5KG load using this net. No issues at all. The only thing is that upon mounting a high payload, you need to hook the hooks to the right location to get the tension right. It has to be perfectly tensioned to provide the maximum holding strength.
Broke within first few days. July 15, 2010 Charles Simms (SANTA CRUZ, CA, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a good product but not good quality. One of the bungees quickly failed and busted out of its nylon casing. The net still works but I was very disappointed when it happened after just 2 days of use, especially after reading all the great reviews. If you are going to put this threw any heavy use, reconsider.
