About Timbuk2 Born in a San Francisco garage and bred on the backs of messengers in the city streets, Timbuk2 still manufactures its custom bags in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District. For 20 years, the company has been building bags and accessories for urban adventurers with a simple philosophy: to create good-looking, tough-as-hell bags you can truly make your own. Timbuk2 celebrates your individuality, which is why the company invites its customers to design and create custom bags in its Bag Builder. By letting you hack its bags, the company believes it can make bags that work harder for you. Like rice and beans, Timbuk2 keeps it simple when it comes to being pro-planet. The company makes durable bags that are built to last, so while the competition is piling up in landfills, Timbuk2 bags stay on your back and hugs you for a lifetime. Tales of Timbuk2 bags outlasting jobs, lovers, pets, and train wrecks are not uncommon. In fact, the company is so confident in its bags that it guarantees that they'll last a lifetime. In those rare cases when something bad goes down, Timbuk2 will take your bag off your hands and find it a new (loving) home through its bag recycling program.

Very pleased after a year's use June 3, 2010 John Schreiber 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had this bag for about a year of daily use and I'm very pleased with it. I just cleaned the inside with a damp sponge and except for a few pen-marks it looks like it is brand new.
Large is very large. I recently put 16 hard-back books in it and it had room for a little more. If I were buying again, medium would be my choice.
4 months in, May 3, 2010 W. Irving 4 months ago I got the black and gray medium classic messenger bag.
Though I gave it a 5, its more like a 4.5
Thus far I have been very satisfied with it. It is very durable, quite spacious and looks good. I would warn against getting a larger bag, if you are planning to use this as any every day commuter item. It works really well while biking to work; except when I have a large coat on, the chest strap is a little too short. Also, the Velcro is rather annoying when trying to open my bag quietly, the buckle latches are usually enough, to keep everything together. All together a great bag, but I got my marked down, and to me the starting price seems a little high.
Excellent little bag March 30, 2010 J. Brown (South Jersey) This really small bag is perfectly sized for netbooks. There is no padding and no real structure to it though, so I would recommend dropping your netbook into a sleeve before slinging it around in this. It's cute and durable as well as very functional. I can fit maybe one or two paperback books in with my netbook, plus it has spots for pens and change. The waterproof lining makes it heavier though, so if you are looking for something lightweight, this might be a bit on the heavy side for you. It's so small though, it hardly matters.
Timbuk2 messenger February 22, 2010 Javapie3 (Metro DC) This is a awesome bag. It's my second one and the size is perfect from commuting to work.

Not as advertised February 20, 2010 average citizen (SF, California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got a Large timbuk2 and from the rides i've taken it on, it isn't very comfortable. I got a strap pad, hoping this would fix the problem but it still persists. When i bought the bag it didn't come with the strap pad or a cross strap but from carrying a chrome citizen messenger bag and this, the chrome definitely beats it in at area of comfortability . The one plus is that it definitely is very roomy.
